hi, I'm Maithilee
a product designer
I design intuitive experiences for complex systems—think public health services, B2B SaaS, journaling tools with AI brains, and spatial apps for the Apple Vision Pro. I'm always chasing that sweet spot where logic meets emotion.
I started in industrial design. Designing physical products taught me to think in systems, not screens. I shifted focus to human-computer interaction and how we make digital tools feel natural.
My design approach is all about empathy-driven thinking because, let’s face it, creating epic user experiences is all about figuring out what makes humans tick (or at least what makes them click).
TL;DR
Curious mind, Figma nerd, vibe-coder, problem-solver. I design with purpose, prototype fast, and always ask why not?

My design process in matcha metaphors
In my design toolkit...

Understanding the Leaves
Just as I’d select the finest matcha by knowing its origin and flavor, I dive into users’ worlds through research and empathy.
By listening to their needs and frustrations, I ensure designs feel personal and impactful.

Whisking the Blend
Like perfecting matcha’s froth through careful trials, I prototype and refine designs with user feedback.
AI helps me analyze patterns and optimize interactions, iterating until every experience feels seamless.

Sharing the Ceremony
A tea ceremony thrives on harmony, and so does design. I collaborate with engineers, marketers, and stakeholders, using AI insights to spark creativity and precision, crafting products that shine through collective effort.
With empathy, iteration, collaboration, and AI, I transform ideas into meaningful experiences—one mindful design at a time.
Beyond the pixel grid...

When I’m not designing user experiences, I’m probably hanging out at an animal shelter. Volunteering has taught me what empathy-driven design truly means—listening, observing, and understanding unspoken needs. Whether it's a skittish pup or a confused first-time user, it's all about tuning into what they're trying to tell you.

"Instagram eats first" -Maithilee, 2025
I'm also the kind of person who takes photos of food before anyone eats—Instagram always eats first, right? But here's the thing: being a foodie has made me appreciate the art of detail and iteration. Much like UX design, perfecting a dish (or snapping the right angle) means experimenting, testing, and adjusting based on what works—and yes, sometimes that means eating the same ramen three nights in a row just to get it right.

My new hobby- Mixology!
And then there's my inner mixologist (or at least my friends let me believe I am one). Crafting cocktails is my version of collaborative problem-solving. It’s all about combining the right elements, testing flavors, and co-creating something delightful with others. Bonus points if the result is both functional and Instagrammable.
My Design Approach
Empathy-Driven Design
I design with users at the center, taking the time to understand their needs, frustrations, and behaviors. The goal is to create solutions that feel natural and solve real problems.
Data-Informed Decision Making
Good design isn’t just about aesthetics—it needs to work for both users and businesses. I rely on research, testing, and feedback to refine experiences that improve usability while also driving key business goals.
Collaborative Problem-Solving
Great design doesn’t happen in a vacuum. I work closely with teams, prototype ideas, test early, and refine continuously to craft experiences that are functional and impactful.
